Summertime, and the living is easy

It's time to turn off your TV and re-connect with our wonderful natural world. Some say the television is causing the downfall of civilization, an argument too complex for this newsletter. Knowing your summer computer time is short, let's just touch briefly on two very separate issues this month.

Of the many useless products promoted by our TV-culture, underarm deodorant came up for criticism in the New York Times. This article offers evidence that most people do not have an offensive body odor and don't need to wear deodorant.

Since summer is the season of activity that could lead to sprains and sprains, here's a reminder. The best early treatment for a sprain is to rest the joint and apply ice packs for periods of 20 minutes at a time every two or three hours (while awake) for the first 48 hours. Next, you'll recover faster with an anti-inflammatory agent. See our information on inflammation on our website at to help you with home care.

Enjoy yourself this summer! Exercise with care, so you don't need any help with a sprain or a strain!
